HOUSTON (KTRK) -- One of the best matchups in girls basketball Friday pinned number one in 6A, Cy Woods taking on number two North Shore.

Much of the attention on Lady Mustang goes to Chasity Patterson. But when you combine her with back-court mate of Adriiana Jackson, they are even more potent.

That was evident Tuesday, when North Shore eliminated last year's state champs, Manvel. Both Patterson and Jackson combined for the 51 of the teams 63 points.

"We push each other, we are like sisters, we know each other's weaknesses as well as strengths," said Jackson. "We know when to find each other on the court."

Patterson adds, "We know each other so well, it just comes natural. It's just good, she knows what I like and i know what she like."

North Shore plays at a phonetic pace, up and down the court. The sophomore, Patterson, is constantly attacking.

Her teammate, Alyssa Okoene, marvels at her play. "Every time I think of her, I think she been playing basketball since she was in the womb," said Okoene. "I don't know how she got so good."

Tonight, they'll have to play their best game against Cy Woods. But much of their motivation is a buy product of the success the boys team had last year.

"The boys winning the state title last year and being right here in our house, us seeing you know what North Shore can do this," head coach Allison Campbell said.
