Sources: Nene declines option, to be free agent

Center Nenehas declined his $3.8 million option with the Houston Rockets and will become a free agent, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski on Saturday.

Nene, 6-foot-11, averaged 3.6 points and 2.9 rebounds off the bench for the Rockets last season.

He had signed a three-year, $11 million deal with the Rockets prior to the 2017-18 season. The 36-year-old veteran has also played for the Nuggets and Wizards during his 17 NBA seasons, averaging 11.3 points and 6.0 rebounds.
