KINGWOOD, TX -- Kingwood used a pair of huge, fourth-quarter scoring plays to cement a critical 29-21 victory over District 16-6A opponent College Park on Saturday afternoon at Turner Stadium.

The Mustangs scored on a 63-yard catch and run by Robert Hammersmith with just 5:40 to play and practically put the game on ice with a 64-yard touchdown scamper by Sewo Olonilua with 1:43 on the clock.

With the win, Kingwood (3-6, 2-3) pulled even with Summer Creek (3-6, 2-3) in the district standings with just one game to play. The Mustangs will travel to Woodforest Bank Stadium in Shenandoah next Saturday to battle The Woodlands (8-1, 5-0), which will be looking to secure an outright league title. Summer Creek, meanwhile, will take on Oak Ridge (6-3, 3-2) at Woodforest on Thursday.
