The girls from Cy Woods now carry their championship mission to the 6-A state tournament.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The girls from Cy Woods now carry their championship mission to the 6-A state tournament.

Cy Woods Senior Erica Ogwumike was just 10 when she watched her big sister Neka win a state title at Cy Fair.

Sister Chenay would win another for the Bobcats.

"I saw the dedication and work they put in and thought I need to do that too,"

Erica following in her big sisters footsteps as she leads the Wildcats into their first ever state tournament this weekend.

Erica says, "It's kind a of cool I'm doing the same thing but in my own way."

Cy Woods head Coach Virginia Woods has got to see Erica develop from a freshman to a senior. She loves the way Erica inspires her teammate. The way she can take over a game if she wants to but she doesn't always have to.

Erica and the wildcats have had a bulls-eye on their backs all season. The number one ranked Wildcats favored to win it all in San Antonio but they say that will only make them play better.

Coach Flores says, "What's great about that is we have to play our best game and that's only going to make everyone better. We embrace it and look forward to it."

Six foot seven Nancy Mulkey adds, "We can't underestimate any team. Anything can happen."

Up first for 33 and 1 Cy Woods -- San Antonio Wagner Friday night in the Alamodome.

Ogwumike is ready to lead the way, "When I came to Cy woods I definitely wanted to leave a legacy, doing that I think I leave a legacy definitely want to finish off with a State Championship.
