CONROE, TX -- Replacement murals were installed Saturday after vandals threw eggs on two Conroe Legend dedications.

Mural artist Theresa Thornhill spent the better part of her Saturday helping put up her renditions of Mary McCoy and Roy Harris, two Conroe residents who she says help put the city on the map for their national recognition.

"We tried to clean it off, but we didn't get out here soon enough, and they were scarred," Thornhill said. "This is a community project. (We do this) through donations from the community. We had to borrow from other murals we had planned to replace these."

Thornhill's son Ty Golson and his fiance Stephanie Stiles spent hours installing the new pieces.
