HARRIS COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- Students and parents in Spring ISD will notice extra security this morning after a social media threat was made against several of its campuses.
District officials say some of their schools were among those threatened in a clown-related social media hoax that affected campuses across the state.

Spring ISD police concluded the social media threat was not credible, but will step up their security presence at a number of schools in the district as a precaution.
The district says it is continuing to monitor the situation.
