Woman's car swallowed by sinkhole in west El Paso

EL PASO, Texas (KTRK) -- A woman's car was swallowed by a sinkhole in El Paso.

The woman drove through a neighborhood to avoid a flooded street Sunday. As she was making a U-turn, the sink hole opened up right under her car.

Neighbors rushed to get her out.

The driver suffered only minor scrapes. A utility company says the sinkhole was caused by a collapsed storm drain.
