Officers on the scene of a shooting in South Houston

SOUTH HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A South Houston police officer shot a man at his home, according to the mother of the victim.

It happened shortly after 10:50 a.m. in the 600 block of Avenue J.

The man was transported to the hospital but his condition is unknown.

The South Houston Police Department has not released any information on the shooting
