HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A 35-year-old man is dead after he was shot outside his northwest Houston home this morning.

The man, identified by his family as Victor Saabedra, died in the 7000 block of Cole Creek at Black Oak around 10pm last night. Police say he was confronted by one or two men. A fight broke out, according to police, and at some point, those suspects pulled out a gun and opened fire on Saabedra.

Saabedra managed to get to his neighbor's house where he collapsed and died.

Police don't know whether Saabedra was robbed or knew his attackers.

Police are now talking to witnesses and are looking for surveillance video, which may have captured the shooting or the vehicle used to get away from the scene.

Houston police say they do not have a good description of the suspects, but if you have any information, you're urged to contact police.
