HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A 17-year-old is now charged in the shooting death of 16-year-old Ezra Ryan Jackson Friday night in southwest Houston.
Jesse L. Davis is facing a manslaughter charge after an accidental shooting around 6:30pm outside a Shell gas station in the 11200 block of Fondren near West Bellfort.
Houston homicide investigators say Jackson was driving a Jeep with four friends when they stopped for gas at the station.
During that stop, police say Davis was handling a gun when it went off and hit Jackson.
Jackson got out of the Jeep and collapsed, according to police.
He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead of a single gunshot wound.
Davis is now out on $10,000 bond. He is due in court Monday.
