SAN JOSE, CA -- The City of San Jose is taking a stand against two states accused of passing discriminatory laws.

North Carolina approved its "bathroom law" that forces transgender people to use the restroom that matches their birth gender, not the one they identify with. And in Mississippi, anyone can deny services to members of the LGBT community.

The resolution passed on Tuesday. It will ban all non-essential travel to those states and cut off ties to businesses headquartered there.
