Bus driver accused of public lewdness
Roger Lee Warren, 66, was arrested and is now charged with indecent exposure.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Mercer Park in north Harris County along Aldine-Westfield Road is a place many families visit every day.

"It has a variety of things for the kids to do," said parent Crystal Benavides.

Harris County Constable Mark Herman says they want to keep it family friendly. A tip that men were exposing themselves led undercover officers to make a visit.

"We went out and surveyed the area and officers saw guys hanging out and when we sent our undercovers in, in minutes they were hit on," said Herman.

The constable says a deputy was approached in a public restroom by 66-year-old Roger Lee Warren.

"We don't want to go into actual activities," Herman said, "It wouldn't be appropriate for television. I can tell you he did approach one of our undercover officers and began sex acts at which time he was arrested."

Warren is now charged with indecent exposure.

Parents at the park were disturbed to learn of the arrest.

"Very scary because we come here pretty often with our kids. It's scary to know that," Benavides added.

Warren was a bus driver for Humble ISD. He had no comment when we he answered the door at his home.

Neighbors said they were stunned.

"The driver is no longer employed by the district," said Jamie Mount, spokesperson for Humble ISD. "He promptly reported the incident to his supervisor and resigned immediately. His resignation was effective Tuesday, July 5. The district works in partnership with law enforcement to promote safety and well-being. The incident is being addressed through the justice system."

He had worked for the district since 2004.

Constable Herman says they will continue to target the parks and root out any sexual behavior while parents are staying vigilant too.

Benavides added, "I hope he learns his lesson and they keep him in there. Pretty scary."
