Houston-based Weingarten Realty Investors has announced plans to build a 30-story luxury high rise in the River Oaks Shopping Center on West Gray Street, the Houston Business Journal reports.
The tower will be built on the north side of West Gray at Driscoll Street, where Local Pour and Cafe Ginger currently stand. It will contain 300 luxury units and 10,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor.
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2018, with the building opening in 2021.
"Plans also include special attention to design, walkability, placemaking and additional retail parking to ensure the long-term success of our retailers and enjoyment of our future residents," Gerald Crump, senior vice president for Weingarten, said in a press release.
