Voters in South Carolina will have their say on the GOP presidential hopefuls

CHARLESTON, SC (KTRK) -- The Republican presidential candidates are in the home stretch in South Carolina.

They've been trying to talk to as many voters as possible. They have also been bringing their famous friends on the trail.

As much as the candidates are stumping, moving from city to city, they're also bringing along the people who support them very publicly. Some of them are just as popular as the candidates themselves.

For Marco Rubio, it is South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley and U.S. Senator Tim Scott. They've been campaigning with Rubio much of the week.

"Go on to social media and let them know you're for Marco for President. E-mail as many of your people. We want the largest voter base that we've ever had," Gov. Haley told a South Carolina rally.

For Ted Cruz, it's former South Carolina governor and current Congressman Mark Sanford, along with reality television star Phil Robertson.

"I'm for Cruz because you see this in my hand, South Carolina," Robertson said. "Bibles and guns brought us here."

Jeb Bush, not to be outdone, has the endorsement of former presidential hopeful and South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham and Donald Trump claims the endorsement of the state's lieutenant governor.
