IOWA CITY, IA (KTRK) -- Residents near an Iowa church say music and worship has gotten too loud for them.
Police have been called to the New Creations International Church on three straight Sundays for the loudness. Records show another complaint was filed on Monday.
Pastor Anthony Smith says he knows it can get loud inside and outside of his church because the building doesn't have air conditioning.
"We do open the windows, and opening the windows probably allows a little more of the worship to be exposed to the neighborhood," Smith said.
Pastor Smith says he welcomes residents to bring their concerns right to him. He's also happy to take donations to help pay for an air conditioning system, something he says would make the noise levels go down.
Pastor Smith says also points out they aren't breaking the law and are allowed to worship loudly. Despite visitng the church multiple times, police have never written a ticket.
