HOUSTON (KTRK) -- After four nominating contests, Texas will now get its say in the 2016 presidential primaries.

Texas is the biggest prize in the March 1 primaries, also known as Super Tuesday, which also includes 13 other states and one U.S. territory.

Voters in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, Wyoming and American Samoa will also cast their ballots on Tuesday.

Super Tuesday also includes what some refer to as the 'SEC primary,' which includes the primary states in the Southeastern Conference, a college athletic conference.

As has been mentioned, Super Tuesday is one of the biggest days on the election calendar.

With hundreds of delegates up for grabs, the signs of the pending election are all around you, on street corners across the Houston area.

In fact, this is an election that can define the future of our nation and its presidential ballot.

In order to obtain the Democratic Party nomination, candidates need to win 2,383 delegates. On Super Tuesday, one-third of those delegates needed are up for grabs.

Super Tuesday is an even bigger deal for the Republican Party candidates, who can grab half of the delegates needed to win the nomination.

Georgia and Virginia are the other states with the largest number of delegates.

Now when you vote on Tuesday, you need to check for your polling place. Some polling places only offer ballots for a specific political party.

You will also need to vote at your precinct. Early voting is over, so if you plan on voting on Tuesday, you will need to go to your specific polling place.

Polls open at 7am.

Now, in addition to presidential candidates, you will also see a list of other offices on the ballot, including judicial, state representative races and contests for your next constable.
