Woman stabbed to death during argument with man, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Officials say a woman is dead after she was stabbed during an argument with a man late Monday night.

According to the Houston Police Department, officers were called to the area of Lyons Avenue and Kress Street around 11 p.m.

Investigators say the woman, who has not been identified, was arguing with a man across the street.

The argument quickly escalated, police say, when the man crossed the street, pulled out a knife, and stabbed the woman at least once.

It's unclear what the relationship -- if any -- was between the two.

"She was able to run this far, which is about two blocks, and flag down a vehicle (the driver) who called 911. She then came into this parking lot and collapsed," Lt. J.P. Horelica said.

HPD says the woman was taken to the hospital, where she died.

Police say the suspect ran away from the scene, going eastbound on Lyons.

He is described as a man in his 20s or 30s, wearing a grey hoodie and a black beanie.
