HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A man was detained Thursday afternoon after authorities said he called 911 saying he stabbed his father in northwest Harris County.

HCSO said deputies were dispatched just a little after 11 a.m. to the 16700 block of Stoneside Drive when a man called and said he stabbed his father.

When deputies arrived, they found a man, believed to be in his 60s, dead with multiple stab wounds. Deputies detained the son at the scene.

Authorities said they had previously responded to the home in May 2025 to a domestic disturbance call and for a mental health case.

HCSO added that the victim's 19-year-old daughter lives with him but was not home at the time.

An investigation is ongoing into the situation.
