Woman shot, killed by neighbor she was dating in housing complex near Sharpstown, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Houston police are searching for the gunman who they say shot and killed a woman he was dating in Sharpstown on Friday evening.

According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded to New Hope Housing, located in the 6000 block of Dale Carnegie Lane, at about 8 p.m. When they arrived, officers found the woman shot to death in her upper body, investigators said.

Authorities said the suspect fled after the shooting.

Investigators said the suspect and the victim were neighbors in the housing complex and were dating.

Officials did not release the identities of the victim or the suspect.

HPD said its homicide detectives are trying to determine what led up to the shooting, adding that they are looking through surveillance footage in hopes of tracking down the suspect.
