HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Your weekend drive will include interstate lane closures across the Houston area, but two major ramp closures near downtown Houston will slow your drive through and across the city.
Around Downtown Houston
The SH 288 ramp is closed northbound to US-59 southbound from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. As a detour, drivers can continue on I-45 southbound, take exit 44C, and turn left at Cullen, following the signs to U.S. 59.
On the other side of downtown, closures will occur in the evening and overnight hours near The Heights. The I-45 northbound and southbound ramps to I-10 westbound will close Saturday and Sunday night from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. This includes the I-10 westbound exit to Taylor.
Near Gulfgate and Hobby Airport
I-45 is closing two northbound mainlanes from the South Loop to Woodridge between Friday at 8 p.m. and Monday at 5 a.m. On Saturday, one mainlane will close southbound along with the exit to the South Loop from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Near Pasadena and Deer Park
Construction work continues this weekend at the interchange of the East Sam Houston Tollway and SH 225. The Tollway southbound mainlanes and exit to SH 225 are closed Saturday from 5 a.m. to Sunday at 11 p.m. On the northbound side, there's a nightly closure of the mainlanes and SH 225 exit from 10 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. through Sept. 19. Pasadena Boulevard, Fairmont Parkway, and Spencer Highway are alternate routes.
