
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Authorities said a man was killed by a family member in a shooting in northeast Houston.
According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded to a call about a shooting in progress at 12:09 p.m. on Wednesday at a house in the 6200 block of Fairchild Street.
Investigators said when they arrived at the scene, a man was found with multiple gunshot wounds. He was then taken to Ben Taub Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, officials said.
Officers said they found the male person of interest in the front yard. The man surrendered to police without incident, HPD said. Officers said they recovered a weapon at the scene.
Authorities said there was also a woman on the scene who witnessed the incident.
HPD said there was a familial relationship between the two men, but did not say what the relationship was, adding that they both lived at the residence.
Officials have not released the identities of the people involved in the incident.
