LA PORTE, Texas (KTRK) -- All eastbound lanes have reopened after an overturned 18-wheeler caused closures on SH-225 to SH-146 on Tuesday, according to officials.
The La Porte Office of Emergency Management (OEM) said the big rig incident, which was reported at about 5:13 a.m., closed the eastbound lanes of SH-225 to SH-146. In a 9:20 a.m. update, OEM officials said the flyover was expected to remain closed for several more hours as cleanup is underway.
As of 4:30 p.m., Houston TranStar reported that the scene was cleared and that all eastbound lanes have reopened.
Drivers were redirected to alternate routes and were told to expect backups. Officials said crews were working to upright and remove the 18-wheeler.
It's unclear at this time what may have led to the crash or whether anyone was injured.
