All lanes reopen after concrete mixer crash on Hwy 99 westbound at Cypress-Rosehill: TranStar
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- Traffic is moving again on Monday evening in northwest Harris County after a wreck involving a concrete mixer shut down Highway 99 at Cypress Rosehill for several hours.
Houston TranStar reported the incident at about 6:36 a.m., which completely closed the roadway on SH-99 Lanier/Grand Parkway North westbound after Cypress Rosehill Road.
At about 10:45 a.m., one lane could be seen getting by as crews continued to clean up the crash. As of 4 p.m., the scene was cleared, and all lanes have reopened, according to Houston TranStar.
SkyEye13 flew over emergency crews responding to the scene, where a concrete mixer from RS Concrete rolled over a ditch, trapping its driver, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
RS Concrete officials confirmed the accident involves their truck and employee. They said their employee was taken to a hospital and is expected to be OK.
Authorities have not said what led to the incident.
