HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A man who died after his SUV veered off the road and ended up upside down in a retention pond has been identified, Harris County officials said.
The crash happened on Sunday afternoon near the Grand Parkway and Northcrest Drive, authorities said.

HCSO reported 51-year-old Joseph Mariano was traveling east in a Nissan Rogue in the 6000 block of the North Grand Parkway West. Authorities said Mariano drifted from the outside lane to the outside shoulder and continued down a grass embankment into the water.
"It went airborne into the retention pond near the Amazon facility here," HCSO Sgt. Beau Beaty said at the scene.
Beaty added that first responders performed CPR on the man, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Investigators said traffic on the Grand Parkway has been restricted as they determine what led up to the deadly crash.
Precinct 4 officials first reported the driver was able to get out of the vehicle safely, but the Harris County Sheriff's Office later reported a man died as a result of the crash.
