24-year-old motorcyclist killed after losing control, crashing into tree, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A 24-year-old man died over the weekend after crashing into a tree with his motorcycle, according to police.

The Houston Police Department said officers responded to the crash at about 9 p.m. on Sunday in the 6000 block of Woodway Drive.

Sgt. Mike Barrow with HPD said the motorcyclist was driving at a high speed before he lost control of his bike and hit a tree.

The 24-year-old victim, who has not been identified, died at the scene, police said.

Barrow said no other vehicles were involved in this crash.

An investigation is ongoing.
