Man shot, killed in Heights Drive Inn bar parking lot in north Houston, police department says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Authorities said a man was shot multiple times and killed in the parking lot of the Heights Drive Inn bar in north Houston overnight.

According to the Houston Police Department, officers arrived at the scene located in the 6700 block of N. Main Street at about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday and found a man with multiple gunshot wounds.

Houston Fire Department personnel also responded to the scene, where they pronounced the victim dead.

According to investigators, initial information indicates that the victim was in the parking lot when he got into a fight with another person. During the altercation, the other person shot the victim, officers said, adding that the suspect fled the scene before they arrived.

HPD said that its homicide detectives responded to the scene and are continuing the investigation.
