HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A man part of an hours-long standoff in 2023 has been convicted of shooting a Harris County Sheriff's Office deputy.

On Thursday, jurors found Terran Green guilty of aggravated assault of a public servant -- a charge that carries anywhere from 25 years to life. The sentencing phase of the trial began shortly after the verdict was delivered and resumes on Friday.

Back in August 2023, Green had been pulled over for speeding. That's when he shot HCSO Deputy Joseph Anderson, seriously wounding him, before fleeing the scene.

Green was tracked down to a home in Atascocita the next day, where he barricaded himself inside and shot a second deputy as well as two U.S. Marshals.

An Eyewitness News camera was rolling when SWAT officers literally busted into the second floor of a home and extracted a man accused of injuring four law enforcement officers.

The SWAT team eventually used their ramming device, called the Rook, to pull apart the house, and Green was carried out on that Rook.

It was the first high-profile use of that particular law enforcement tool.

Records show that Green has been in and out of jail since 2007 -- some of those arrests for violent crimes -- and he's even gotten into trouble while awaiting trial.

Last year, jailers say they caught him with a weapon.
