Man found dead in east Houston parking lot, police say

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The Houston Police Department said an investigation is underway after a man was found dead in a parking lot on Sunday morning.

According to officers, a caller reported finding the man at 323 South Cesar Chavez Boulevard at about 8 a.m.

Homicide detectives said the man was on the floor of the parking lot and not inside a vehicle. Officials did not say if there were any vehicles nearby.

Authorities said the man had trauma, but did not specify what kind of trauma. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
