Investigation underway after woman found dead near downtown Houston, HPD says
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A death investigation is underway after a woman was found dead near downtown Houston on Wednesday morning, according to the Houston Police Department.
According to HPD, officers responded to the scene on 2300 Caroline Street at 6:35 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found the woman unresponsive, and her body had signs of trauma. Police say that the woman was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman's identity and cause of death are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, HPD said.
