Investigation underway after man's body spotted in Buffalo Bayou in downtown Houston, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A death investigation is underway after a man's body was found in Buffalo Bayou on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Houston Police Department.

HPD Lieutenant Larry Crowson said that at 2 p.m., officers were dispatched to Buffalo Bayou along Commerce Street, where a cleanup crew spotted a body in the bayou while doing maintenance in the area.

Police say that the body appears to be that of a man and was clothed.

The medical examiner's office is working to find out how this person died.
