
HUNTSVILLE, Texas (KTRK) -- A Huntsville police officer is severely injured after a car crash involving a stolen vehicle, police said in a social media post.
According to a Facebook post from the Huntsville Police Department, officers attempted to stop an allegedly stolen vehicle on Tuesday morning in the area of Avenue M near 8th Street.
The driver then fled at a high rate of speed and hit Officer Sean Brinson head-on, the statement read.
Officer Brinson was pulled from his patrol car by Huntsville Fire before being treated by Walker County EMS, according to the Facebook post.
Huntsville PD said Brinson was then taken to a Houston-area hospital, where he is currently in critical condition for his injuries.
