Low pressure to bring widespread rain showers Wednesday
ABC13 weather has your Houston forecast details, with doppler radar for southeast Texas and live cameras for the weather where you are, all week long.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- It's been dry start to the work week, but it won't be dry for long. We'll see widespread rain chances return on Wednesday as a messy low pressure system blows through Houston.

We're enjoying another mild December afternoon with temps rising to the middle and upper 60s as clouds build in from the Gulf. A stray sprinkle cant be ruled out today as the next weather system develops along the coast.

When could we get more widespread rain?

Moisture will move back in Tuesday night bringing back chances for rain, with the best chances arriving Wednesday. There's enough moisture and lift coming in for widespread rain throughout the day, with a few claps of thunder mixing in. At this time, we're not expecting any severe weather or widespread flooding but there will be some big puddles on our roadways from time to time. Rain chances will go down Thursday through Friday, then pick up again over the weekend. At this time we are anticipating about 2-3 inches for most with higher amounts near the coast.

When could we get our first freeze in Houston?

We aren't seeing any signs of freezing weather over the next 10 days, and long range projections now show only a low chance of a freeze for the first half of December. On average, Houston's first freeze occurs during the second week of December.
