Harris County sheriff warns drivers against speeding after 2 separate deadly crashes: 'Slow down'

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- The Harris County Sheriff's Office investigated two separate deadly crashes at the same time on Monday night.

In a social media post, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez warned drivers to slow down and drive safely as officers were investigating two crashes in Harris County at about 8 p.m.

One of the crashes occurred on the southbound main lanes of IH-45, between SH-99 and Spring Cypress Road, according to Gonzalez.

Authorities confirmed that one person is dead from the crash.

The other incident involved a motorcycle crashing at 1601 S. Main Street (FM-2100) in Highlands, according to HCSO.

Officials said the motorcycle rider was pronounced dead.

In a message to drivers, Gonzalez urged people to "please slow down and drive safely."

The names of those killed in the crashes were not immediately released.
