Fire rips through multi-story apartment building in west Houston, authorities say

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A blaze that started on the third floor of a west Houston apartment building spread down to the second floor, according to the Houston Police Department.

Authorities said the fire was first reported at an apartment complex near the intersection of Briar Forest Drive and Tanglewilde Street in west Houston on Saturday afternoon.

Preliminary information suggested that no injuries or deaths were reported, police said.

HPD did not provide more details. An Eyewitness News camera crew is en route to the scene.
