MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- Police arrested one man and are looking for another after the pair hit a school bus in Conroe, then ran off, a spokesperson with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said.
According to Conroe ISD, a Campbell Elementary school bus was struck from behind by another vehicle near Knob Hollow and Jonquil Pathway in the Gleneagle subdivision. Sixteen students were on board and two were injured, district staff told ABC13. The injuries were minor, according to a district spokesman.
Authorities say that two men in the other vehicle fled the scene, with one of them seen carrying a firearm.
Authorities say that one suspect was detained, and the weapon was recovered. Law enforcement says MCSO and Conroe ISD police are actively searching for the other suspect.
According to the district, Irons Junior High was placed in secure mode as a precaution until both suspects were detained, since the search for the other suspect was in the area.
