BIRMINGHAM, AL -- Police say a retired Texas cattle rancher was found shot to death under an interstate in Alabama.
Al.com reports the Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the body as 64-year-old Jerald Douglas Wade. He was found under a Birmingham interstate Friday.
Wade was pronounced dead after Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service officers tried to revive him.
Birmingham police spokesman Lt. Sean Edwards says Wade was shot multiple times. Edwards believe Wade was a transient.
The victim's brother, John Wesley Wade, told the newspaper his brother spent several years in the U.S. Army and then returned to Texas where both worked together as ranchers in Llano. He says his brother left Llano a couple years ago, traveling from Texas to California, Illinois and Kentucky.
