Alligator run over by car in Montgomery County

CONROE, TX (KTRK) -- A driver ran over an alligator in Conroe early this morning.

It happened around 1:30am on SH 242 on the the San Jacinto bridge. Eyewitnesses say the car never stopped and kept going. The alligator will survive. It had a cut to the leg.

Wildlife officials will release the gator in the San Jacinto River.
