VP Mike Pence to ABC13: 'Texas is truly inspiring the nation'

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Vice President Mike Pence says the federal government will be on hand "for the long haul" as Texas and other areas rebuild.

"It breaks our hearts to see families struggling and we are with you," Pence told ABC13.

Pence estimated that 500,000 Americans could be eligible for disaster assistance.
