Former Vice President Mike Pence said Friday he will not be endorsing his former boss Donald Trump in the 2024 general election.
The letter from DOJ's National Security Division comes the week before Pence is expected to announce his candidacy for president in 2024.
The former vice president joins Donald Trump in the GOP primary race.
Pence was inside the courthouse for more than seven hours.
A date for Pence's grand jury appearance is not yet known.
In an interview with CNN later Thursday, Mike Pence called it an "outrage," arguing that the case against Trump is "tenuous" and will "only further serve to divide our country."
