Pearland woman crowned Mrs. United States 2015

PEARLAND, TX (KTRK) -- A Pearland woman has been crowned Mrs. United States 2015 -- the third straight year a Texan has won the title.

Katie Garza earned her crown Thursday night in Las Vegas, beating out 53 competitors. Before becoming Mrs. United States, Garza was Mrs. Texas and Mrs. Pearland.

As Mrs. Texas, Garza -- mother to three premature daughters -- laid the ground work for her foundation benefitting premature babies and medically fragile infants in the U.S. "Pumping For Preemies" was started to spread the word of the need for donor breast milk for premature infants.
