Pearland outlasts College Park in opener

SHENANDOAH, TX -- College Park coach Richard Carson missed nearly three whole quarters of the Cavaliers' season opener against No. 10 state-ranked Pearland on Friday night, but he sure was proud of what he saw once he finally arrived to the stadium.

Carson's wife, Karen, had to be taken to the emergency room for tests earlier in the evening, and Carson was there by her side. The latest from Carson after the contest was that his wife was doing well.

"Have to take care of the important stuff," he said.
