HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The Cougars hosted a big celebration Monday night. The University of Houston paid tribute to their football team for winning the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.
The free event started at 6pm at TDECU on campus and it was open to all fans wearing Cougar red.
At 7pm, the school invites fans to move over to Hofheinz Pavilion for the men's basketball showdown against SMU. Tickets for the game start at $5. For more information on tickets, click here.
On campus Friday, you could sense the Cougar pride. Just ask UH senior Hunter Bodiford who said the student body is grateful for the team's success.
"Coach Herman has really changed the landscape on campus," said Bodiford. "He has changed the feeling about football. People always found a way to come to the game. It was must see, had to be there TV."
Students have nicknamed TDECU Stadium as "the cage."
