OXNARD, CA -- Only one person showed up for an autistic boy's 11th birthday party on Saturday afternoon in Oxnard.

Unsatisfied with the turnout, Pedro Flores' sister Edith took to social media.

"My little brother with autism invited his friends to his birthday party. He was really happy, but only one of them came, so now (he's) really messed up how no one came and he got disappointed," Edith Flores wrote.

Her post generated an immediate response.

People started showing up at the house later that night with gifts. The next day, about 80 people arrived to keep the party going.

Community members donated a bounce house, a pinata and a Frozen-themed cake. A company called Party Stars even sent people dressed as Ninja Turtles.

Throughout the day, Pedro thanked everyone for making it out for his special day.

Before blowing out his birthday candles, he made one more wish.

"I wish to go to the moon," Pedro said.
