Flipped 18-wheeler
The driver of an 18-wheeler told police another vehicle cut him off, causing him to lose control and crash the big rig

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The North Loop eastbound approaching I45 south is back open this morning after an overturned 18-wheeler shut the freeway down for hours overnight.

The driver of the truck says around 9:00pm last night, the driver of another vehicle quickly cut in front of him. The driver of the 18-wheeler then lost control and hit a curb, causing the trailer to flip on its side.

It was raining at the time and the road was slippery.

The impact of the crash caused the trailer to split in half, spilling flattened cardboard boxes onto the North Loop. It took several hours to upright the 18-wheeler and clear the accident scene.

The driver was not injured in the crash.
