PASADENA, CA -- A large bear rampaged through a Pasadena neighborhood on Monday evening, startling people as animal control attempted to wrangle it.
The black bear was seen in the 900 block of Riviera Drive in the Hastings Ranch area of Pasadena at about 7 p.m.
Residents said they ran for cover and some even hid as the bear was running wild through the neighborhood.
"I screamed and I said to my husband, 'There's a bear in our yard!' He just kind of sat there and perched in my backyard for about a good three minutes and started eating berries," Elizabeth Holland said.
At last word, officials said they had not found the bear. The bear may have found its way back into the Angeles National Forest on its own, according to officials.
