Police involved in SWAT standoff in League City
A SWAT team was called to apartments in League City Tuesday.

LEAGUE CITY, TX (KTRK) -- League City police say a suspect who triggered a SWAT situation at an apartment complex is in custody.

The SWAT team was sent out around 12:30pm to a report of shots fired in the 2700 block of East FM 518.

A man had barricaded himself inside his apartment and officers spent about two and half hours negotiating with him before he gave up.

It does not appear anyone was injured during the incident.

Nearby Clear Creek high school and intermediate school also were placed under protect mode, as a precaution. Exterior doors are locked, but the schools are not on full lockdown status, according to a school district spokesperson.
