Suspect arrested, charged in fatal shooting in west Houston

HOUSTON -- Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman at 6111 Willowbend about 7 p.m. on November 9.

The suspect, Brian Castello, 29, is charged with murder in the 209th State District Court. He is accused in the death of Damaris Gonzalez, 29, of the above address.

HPD Homicide Division Officers T. S. Miller and T. Ferguson reported family members of Gonzalez became concerned after they hadn't heard from her. They went to her apartment and smelled a foul odor when they opened the door. Upon entering, they found Gonzalez deceased, wrapped in a comforter in a closet.
