Southeast Houston pedestrian dies when car veers off road

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man walking in southeast Houston died when a car jumped the curb and slammed into him.

The Houston Police Department says the man was walking on Rosehaven near Sparrow around 10pm when the driver lost control and slammed into him, killing him.

After hitting the man, the driver slammed into a tree.

It's not yet clear if the victim lived on the street where he died.

The driver was arrested and charges are pending.
