Robbers open fire at red light
A man was hit by flying glass when would-be robbers shot out his window when the victim stopped at a red light

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston police are on the lookout for several suspects after they attempted to rob a man in pick-up truck and fired shots at him.

It happened around 1:00am along South Gessner and the Southwest Freeway.

The victim says a black SUV pulled alongside his vehicle when he was stopped at the red light on South Gessner. Someone in the SUV then demanded the victim get out of the pick-up. The victim tried to drive away, getting onto the sidewalk, and that's when four shots were fired at his vehicle.

The bullets shattered the window of the pickup truck, and pieces of glass cut the victim's arm. The victim ran to the Valero on the corner of the SW Freeway at South Gessner and called for help. He will be okay.

The suspects then drove off. Police are still looking for them.

The men in the SUV are also wanted for questioning in two other robberies committed that day. One of those robberies was off Highway 288. The second was off South Post Oak Road.
