Deadly crash
The driver of a vehicle refused to pull over for a minor traffic violation, leading officers on a chase that ended in a deadly crash

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- It was supposed to be a routine traffic stop. Now one man is dead, and a pregnant woman has been transported to the hospital

It happened overnight in the 14,000 block of Ella between Kuykendahl and West Rankin in north Harris County. Deputies were trying to stop a driver who didn't use his turn signal to make turn.

The driver refused to stop, and the chase was on. Eventually, the driver lost control of his car, hit an indention in the road, lost control, and hit two trees before being ejected from the vehicle. The driver died at the scene.

There were two passengers also in that vehicle including a pregnant woman who was transported by Life Flight to the hospital. She's said to have non-life threatening injuries. The second passenger in the back seat was also transported to the hospital in unknown condition.

Deputies are still investigating why the driver refused to stop. There will also be toxicology tests taken on that deceased driver to see if alcohol or other drugs were a factor in the deadly crash.
